Address: Arrangeret af., 6720 Fanø
A Wadden Sea hike to the Seal Bank is one of the most exciting things to do on Fanø.
The Sand Bank southwest of Sønderho is the best spot in the National Park to see both the harbor seal and the gray seal. Normally there are between 200 and 400 seals resting on the bank.
At lowtide we will walk the 1,7 km on dry seabed from Sønderho beach to the sand bank. It is a tour that the entire family can do. We will make stops during the hike and the guide will tell about the exciting story about the seals and the surrounding nature. The flat and apparently lifeless seabed hides a fascinating abundance of life underneath the surface. A life that provides food for the millions of birds, both permanent resident and migrating birds.
Under normal conditions it is possible to bring a stroller, a handcart or similar for small children.
In case you are disabled, we have 2 electric off-road wheelchairs at our disposal.
Duration approx. 2 hours.
Price: 100 kr. for adults, 50 kr. for children (4-14 år)
Dress: Wellingtons or waterproof shoes and warm clothing recommended. In the summer you can walk barefoot.
Meeting point: Sønderho Strand, at the end of Sønderho Strandvej.
